Haha, I also did the same thing. But notice if you fire the nuke yourself the shields will do nothing. If your ENEMY fires the nuke the shields will actually protect a little bit.

I though that might happen. That's lame, shields should just protect from all outside attacks even the players own. Would make an interesting strategy to be able to rush units inside the enemies shield field and be protected from outside attacks.

Grant this look like a good game for prodigy's next fad?

The depth of the game is unlike any RTS in a looong time. Matches with 8 players on the really big maps can last for many hours... all the shields and long range barrages are fantastic. Every unit has a weakness. I think it's great... but yeah if you hit a fully shield area with a nuke most of the larger buildings will survive.

I'm not going to deny that it is a good game, I just prefer C&C3: Tiberium Wars. I feel like I can follow the storyline better.
